Spring Home & Garden Show
Wed-Sun February 20 - 24, 2013 at the Portland Expo Center

Featured Project
Don't you love easy projects that yield big results? This month's featured project did just that. We managed to turn a 10' wide wall niche into an impressive little wet bar which boasts the following:
  • custom wood cabinets
  • solid granite slab counter top with designer tile backsplash
  • stainless steel microwave, mini-fridge & wine cooler
  • under-mount sink with disposal
A beautiful new wet bar like this sure adds style and convenience to an ordinary game room.

Feel free contact us if you're interested in finding out more about this
project or if you'd like to speak to someone about your own remodel.

Ask the Builders
QUESTION: Is Zero-VOC paint worth the money? I'll be having contractors do my painting during the remodel and my family will be out of the home when the paint dries so the harmful smell shouldn't affect us, right?

ANSWER: There's a lot more to healthy paint than just the "stink factor". VOC's (volatile organic compounds) are the fast-evaporating chemical mixtures in products like glues, synthetic fibers and paint. As your paint cures, VOC's are released into the air you breathe and often become trapped since your home is primarily sealed. Once inhaled, these VOC's can act as irritants to sensitive people. The EPA has proven that the concentration of VOC's indoors is much higher than outdoors--sometimes close to 100 times higher! Therefore, we do believe it's worth the cost and recommend using zero-VOC paints wherever and whenever possible.

If you have a specific painting or remodel question you'd like to ask please contact us. See you at the Home & Garden Show this week!

All the best,
